Newstead Girls’ College, Negombo which was established in 1815 is the oldest girls’ college in Sri Lanka. At the beginning the college was run by the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society and later vested in the government in 1962. The college is a community comprising the students of all the nationalities and religions in the country. Corporate designs are for their Bicentenary Celebration Walk which was held in 2016. The main inspiration was the “Sea wave” and it demonstrates in the middle, in variations of red color which is the main corporate color of the college. The colors of Green, Yellow, Orange and Black on the T-shirt sleave demonstrates the colors of the houses namely “Ward, Heartly, Dixon and Lawrance”. The white background demonstrates the clarity and purity.
